The ingredients needed to make Gojju awalakki:

  1. {Make ready 250 gm of g-Thick poha.
  2. {Make ready 2 tbsp of spoon-Rasam powder.
  3. {Prepare 1 cup of cup-Tamarind juice.

  5. {Prepare 4 tbsp of spoon-Grated coconut.

  10. {Take 1 tsp of Mustard seeds.
  11. {Prepare 1 tsp of Chana dal.

  14. {Get 50 gm of Ground nuts.
  15. {Get 1 tsp of Turmeric.
  16. {Take of Rasam powder.
  17. {Get 100 gm of Kashmir red chilli.
  18. {Prepare 100 gm of -Coriander seeds.
  19. {Get 1 tsp of cumin seeds.
  20. {Take 1 tsp of pepper.
  21. {Take 1 tsp each of Mustard and fenugreek.
  22. {Take of Dry roast it in kadai and powder it in mixer.

If you don't have kopra, you can add fresh coconut too. Either normal cooking oil or peanut oil is preferred for this Gojju avalakki. Spicy, tangy avalakki/poha with crunchy groundnuts served with It is made by adding powdered poha/avalakki into a masala made using saarina pudi/rasam powder. Gojju Avalakki is a delicacy from Karnataka.

Instructions to make Gojju awalakki:

  1. First coarsely grind poha in mixer but do not grind fully (powder form).Take a big bowl add tamarind juice,rasam powder and jaggery,salt and mix it well,then soak the powdered poha in the bowl for 15 mins.Take kadai add four spoons of oil then add mustard seeds,chanaDal,urad Dal,Turmeric, asafoetida,allow it to crackle then add curry leaf,add ground nuts and roast until it turns light brown and then add the soaked poha to it and mix well.keep it in sim for 10 mins the and turn off the flame..
  2. Then add grated coconut and coriander leaf for garnishing and mix well.gojjawallaki is ready to eat.
